This policy explains what Plani collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and what your choices are. It applies to the SMS/iMessage assistant at our Sendblue number and the web calendar at plans.meetplani.com.
Plani is operated by White & Associates, PC, 6 Beacon Street, Boston, MA. Privacy questions: [email protected].
When you use Plani, we collect:
To run the service. That means: replying to your texts, sending reminders you've asked for, generating daily and weekly digests, building the web calendar, and improving Plani. We don't sell or rent your data. We don't use it to train models for anyone else.
To deliver the service, your data passes through a few categories of vendors who act on our behalf under contract:
If you have a specific question about a vendor or want the current list of named sub-processors, email us. We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with anyone else except if required by law or to protect against fraud or harm.
To surface local events for your town, Plani reads from public community calendars (e.g. Patch.com) and public school district calendars. We don't send your data to those sites — we only read what's already public there.
Plani's responses are generated by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). AI can be wrong. Don't rely on Plani for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical information. Always verify anything important.
Our marketing pages (meetplani.com and town landing pages) use:
These set cookies in your browser. You can block them via your browser settings or extensions. Opting out won't break anything — Plani doesn't depend on them.
The web calendar and SMS service do not use these trackers.
By texting Plani, you consent to receive replies and any reminders you ask for. Message frequency depends on what you ask for. Standard message and data rates may apply.
To opt out of all messages: text STOP. To get help: text HELP. To opt back in after stopping: text START.
We can only send messages to phone numbers that have texted us first — that's a structural property of our SMS plan, not just a policy. If you want to add a family member, they need to text Plani themselves or tap an invite link.
We retain your data as long as it's necessary to provide the service, maintain reasonable records, and improve and secure Plani. Retention may differ across data types (messages, events, account info, inactive accounts).
You can ask us to delete your family's data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We'll do it.
You can ask us to:
Email [email protected] and we'll handle it. If you live in California, Virginia, Connecticut, Colorado, Utah, or Texas (or another state with a consumer privacy law), you may have additional statutory rights — those apply to you regardless of what this policy says.
Plani is intended primarily for adults — parents and guardians. Children 13 and older may participate in their family's Plani group chat or use the family calendar when an adult in the household invites them.
Plani is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Parents and guardians may share information about their children of any age (names, ages, schools, activities) so Plani can help manage the family schedule — that's data shared by the parent, not collected from the child.
If you believe a child under 13 has interacted with Plani directly, contact us at [email protected] and we'll delete what we have.
We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your data. No system is fully secure. If we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as required by law.
This policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
We'll update this policy as Plani changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to active users.
