What's new in Plani: September 2026

September 2026

What changed in Plani from late August to late September. Most of it came from something one of you asked for.

New things you can ask Plani

Did I get paid?

Ask about any bill you submitted in eBill. Plani checks CPCS and tells you which bills were paid, which were rejected, and which CPCS hasn't gotten to yet.

Before this, Plani could only see that a bill was submitted.

did I get paid for whitmore?
two whitmore bills. the 8/31 one was paid, $433.50. the 9/14 one was rejected: CPCS says the dates overlap a bill you already filed.
what about danner
danner 9/14, $620.50, submitted and not paid yet.

Send a timesheet from the web chat

On your billing page, tap the paperclip, paste, or drag in a screenshot or PDF. A photo of a handwritten sheet works. Plani reads it and logs the time, same as texting it a photo.

Billing page chat
PDFcalloway-week.pdf
logged all four from the sheet for calloway, 2.3h: 0.5 prep 9/15, 0.8 legal research 9/16, 0.6 client meeting 9/17, 0.4 client call 9/18.

Close a finished case

Tell Plani a case is done, or tap Close on your client list. It comes off the list, but Plani keeps the history. Log more time for that client and the case reopens on its own.

danner's case is done, take him off my list
closed danner. he's off your client list and his history stays. if you log time for him again he comes right back.

Your billing page

Needs you

A new tab listing everything keeping time off your bill: an entry with no client, one with no length, a date that hasn't happened yet, travel missing a town.

Tap Fix with Plani and the chat opens on that item. Plani asks about a stuck entry for two days, then leaves it here instead of texting you again.

Plani understands more of how you talk

Tenths, ranges, and a whole day in one text

".4" is 24 minutes. "9-930" is 9:00 to 9:30. Several clients in one text get one reply back, not one per client.

Say a client's name the way you'd say it out loud and Plani finds the right eBill case.

whitmore .4 call with client
whitmore, client phone call, 0.4
danner 9-930 motion hearing. calloway .5 prep, 1.2 legal research
logged all three: danner motion hearing 9:00 to 9:30 (0.5), calloway 0.5 prep and 1.2 legal research.
